[cool][cool]Hi All, Boy it sounds like I've got some real pro's on this one. Thanks Steve for the offer I'll send you a PM. It would be great to be able to afford having all you guys join us in our adventures up north. If I hit a lottery before then consider it done.
I'm not sure if I can explain my methods right for lack of knowing the exact terminology for fly fishing. In fact I had to look up the exact names of the knots I have used, they are the albright and blood knots. Both successfully but the size of my quarry was smaller than what I expect to see in Alaska. the clear plastic bubble is the type that had the rubber band inside to hold it in place. I do let some water in to give the extra weight for casting the fly. My rod will be a medium 7 foot spinning, if you have any line size suggestion that would be good. the keepers I use on my four pound test line to set the depth while crappie fishing are small enough to pass thru the eyes and do not interfer while casting. With the two keeper method it would only pass thru the first eye. I will try the surgeons knot two it may be stonger for the size of the fish.
I have also purchased a super sport 9' pontoon fishing platform to use. I looked at tubes and decided I liked keeping my legs out of the cold waters of Canada and Alaska. I plan on using it for walleyes in Slave Lake Alberta Canada and on some running waters in Alaska. thanks for the help!!! Chief
