...I use the bubble fly method of fishing with my spinning rigs... I dont use a leader but I do use my tippet tied off the end of the spinning rigs line... I use a loop to loop connection to "tie" the two lines together.. as scruffy fly said you can use a swivel tied below the bubble but I would make sure and use a small plastic bead above the swivel to ensure that the bubble does not get jammed onto the swivel.. since I have stopped using the swivel I set my rig up as follows...
..first... go to walmart or any other fishing store and pick up a pack of "keepers" called carolina keepers...
to set up the rig..
slide a carolina keeper up your spinning line to the point where you want your bubbles top to be...
slide your bubble on the line until it reaches the keeper...
slide a second keeper up your line to about an inch or so below the bubble.. this will give you room to open the bubble to get water into it... make sure you leave about a foot of spinning line below the second keeper...
I tie a loop in the spinning line (below the bubble) so I can make the loop to loop connection between my spinning line and my tippet...
..tie a second loop in your tippet and then do the loop to loop conncection between the spinnning line and the tippet...
.. the reason I went away from the swivel was for two reasons..
first was the bubble jamming onto the swivel if I forgot the bead.. and second.. I had times where my line gave way or broke very easily and every time it at the swivel..
since I went away from the swivel and use the loop to loop connection I have not had a knot give way.. in fact, on a recent tubing trip (first one). my fly got hooked on something in the depths of the water and I was litterally able to pull myself over to the spot where my fly was fouled and work it free without losing that fly ...
.. hope this helps..
