My new walleye catchin tool
#4
you using a flat back or a canoe?

for a hook
if you drill a hole it the rim then screw in a self tapping pan head screw, then take it back out and grind three sides off and then put it back in using vice grips.

get your rod holder pisitioned just right, when you get a strike the rod will dip down and jump out of the hook.

I dont think you need to make a frame unless you have a canoe and if that is the case, then all you might need is an elbo similar to a trailor tail light bracket.

but ya know any twig you hit, or sea weed or fish your line bumps in to will set it off... but it would be great on the hard top of the saginaw river...

lots of stuff floating down the river, but what the hay, if your going to run in to it, you may as well know about it sooner than later...
