I am pretty sure that the Stradic is still made in Japan. I have a few from last year they are 2500's and they are made in Japan. I think all the reels under the stradic have been moved to mylasia for manufacturing. I am not to crazy for the handles on the stradics now, mine like to fold up on me while fighting fish.
