The fishermen on this board Float Tube all time, as I do. I've probably been kicked out of ten or twelve places. Some are areas in lakes that allow float tubing, some just plain unfriendly. [mad] So this is my list of Places the we should boycott.
1. Redondo Harbor. Harbor Patrol derided my Tube and told me to" get my toy out of his bay"!
2. The Federal Channel in Dana Point. Harbor Patrol yelled at me..." You can't be there, that's the Federal Channel, ..You can't fish the Federal Channel!"..Note: I was on a big Leopard Shark and he was towing me down the Federal Channel
This Channel is the one that runs along the Long Jetty.
3. Puddingstone lake. Not a very big lake. Can only fish the area right near the southwest side of the dam and Sailboat cove. Lifeguard yells " Hey what are you doing???You can't fish here! You gotta fish over there on the other side of the lake! And you'll have to walk back!" Screw him I kicked back. Really pissed him off.
3.Cuyamaca in San Diego. Tried to get a group trip up on this board. They have a plea out to come up there and fish to help out the locals, ravaged by the fire. NO FLOAT TUBING
4. DVL. Very 'Green". Four Stroke or electric powered only. Very clean...Water Supply...Stripers, Large and Smallmouth Bass, Big Trout. No Float Tubing!
5. Agua Hedionda Lagoon. Carlsbad CA. Warm Water from Power Plant. Sheltered set of Three Lagoons. Calm, Ideal! Halibut, Spotfin Croaker, Yellowfin Croaker, White Seabass....No Float Tubing Allowed.
6.Lake Nacimiento. Great fishing for Bass, both Smallmouth , Largemouth and Spots. Crappie and Turbo Crappie(White Bass)NO, No NO FLOAT TUBING!
7.Lake Hesperia. Big Trout, Giant Catfish, STURGEON! NO Tubing...
8.Lake Poway. Beautiful Park Setting. Rocks and clear water. Giant Bass, Large Trout, Monster Redears and Bluegill. Not a Chance for us Float Tubers.
Thanks you for the myriad of locations that allow us to fish free, noiseless, and unfettered. Imagine a free float tubing world! Catch and release, so my kids can catch your fish when they grow up.[
] I'm interested in your take on this and perhaps we can build a list of places we are not welcome. Save a wasted trip or two at least.
