[black]Well, I got my present early. First off, a little background info. While working for Orvis I had an opertunity to purchase two different cameras at a killer price. Both are Pentax with one being the 43wr (water resistance which means you can take pictures under water). I had the small si version. Now I don't know if anyone has checked, but although these were both the same price and similar features, the si was a better camera. I guess a large part of the price goes for the water seal on wr cameras and you sacrifice the finer things.[/black]
[black]Anyway, my si took a swim this summer and didn't dry out....toasted. So I have been using the wr. It as I said lacks in some features like the close ups for one and I hate the AA battery thing, they don't last as long as the little square ones.[/black]
[black]After looking for awhile, I found the new waterproof, freeze proof, image stabilizing in the new Olympus. Reading the write ups, a cool camera but not great. We took off last night to look and as luck would have it, I found the proto to this one I just mentioned, which means it is being discontinued and A GREAT PRICE![/black]
[black]Although this one is not waterproof, it has more cool features and the write up on it much better. Image Stabilizing, 3x zoom, and WEATHER RESISTANT (which makes a lot of sense here) The only down side I see any problem with in the future is it has NO view finder (which a lot of the new ones don't) to make room for a HUGE screen. It is not anti-glare however so, seeing it in bright sun light might pose a problem, but what the heck, the price was fantastic (Circuit City staff ROCKS) and close ups are killer, not to mention a picture editing feature built in...I have to post one of these...they are sooo kewl!.[/black]
[black]That is my Christmas Present WAHOO![/black]

Oh yeah, I do still have the wr if I want to take a picture underwater. I am suprised at how little I have used that feature.[blush]
