Diesel Fuel

I drive a diesel too, so I feel your pain. I also work at an oil refinery. Remember when diesel was always cheaper than gas? Diesel used to require much less refining than gasoline. Since the government made us go to low sulfur and high sulfur(red), diesel has gone up. This last year we had to go to ultra-low sulfur for on-highway diesel. This requires much more refining than it used to. Removing sulfur is not an easy process. Sulfur is also a lubricant, which means additives are put in the fuel. I'm not defending the oil companies, they don't give their employees any kind of deal, I just know that there are some real reasons for the increase. I filled up my truck this morning before heading to Piute, $105.00, ouch.
