The water was pretty fast so that observation might be right on. I've fished that hole several times. If fishing it one way doesn't produce fish then you move down or up river and try again. Doesn't seem to be one way when it comes to that hole.
There have been plenty of days when I get skunked and she is reeling them in left and right all around me. Seems to jump back and forth between us.
It's nice fishing with another person because it's quicker to see what the fish are hitting on. A lot of times I'll start off with surface lures and she will go with diving. After the first couple fish the other person switches and then it's a race to who gets the biggest in the boat before the sun goes down.
