[black]This thread is absolutely amazing. The locked thread that had a discussion about fish handling did not get out of hand. Nothing was said that was out of hand or derogatory towards anyone and a lot of good, CONTRIBUTING, information on the subjuect was shared for the benefit of all.[/black]

[black]The most aggressive posts were made by the moderator and the original poster who decided he had been wronged by the discussion of the subjuect so the post gets locked. There were several attempts by posters in the original thread that said no one, especially the original poster, was being aimed at but I guess that doesn't matter. Go read it yourself and draw your own conclusions.[/black]

[black]This thread appears within minutes after the original thread is locked up, encouraging discussion of the exact subjuect and now it is OK to talk about. Also the derogatory comments throughout this thread about people who posted on the original thread, are labeled as non-contributing and "A-holes" but this type of behavior is tolerated and encouraged by the non action of the moderators to control it. We don't have a double standard going here do we? Guess it depends on who's side of the fence you are on.[/black]

[black]Thanks, Flygoddess, I'm glad people like you are here to set examples for people to follow. You're a moderator here too, correct?[/black] [/reply]
[black]Why does everything have to be sugar coated and politically correct on this site? Let the perverbial blood flow once in a while. This ain't Fantasy Island. It's the real world, people get p.o'd, and there are ADULTS on this site. So some people are passionate about the way fish are held and photographed, netted and released. But not all the pictures will tell the real story. I know what Flygoddess is talking about and it's not pertaining to this website so don't assume. Sometimes the threads get locked by moderators for getting out of hand. But who decides what get's out of hand. The mod. Who say's they're perfect. I know you do your best (mods) but face it. You all put your pant's on one leg at a time just like the rest of us. Sometime posts get misconscrued and tempers boil. Big deal, let it ride. [/black]
[black]And it is a BLOOD sport, but you can do less harm by not using treble hooks, and if you do use treble's, cutting the line if the hook is swallowed, use a net to bring the fish in (not just bringing up to shore or the boat and bouncing it off the sand/dirt/rocks/deck of the boat), if your going to handle and photograph it, (just an example bassrods so don't take offense) rinsing off the fish's blood from your hands and the fishes face before photographing the thing and keep it in the net when taking the picture might help. [/black]
[black]So the first thread was locked, another started and not locked. So what, like I said let it ride. It'll work itself out. [/black]
