Proper handling of fish to be released
#29
Thanks Saber.

I had looked at the Frabills before getting my Beckman. Once again though, they only make the rubber nets in smaller sizes. I have one of Beckman's "fish friendly", knotless, coated nets, and they are better than the rough, knotted nylon ones, but still not near as soft as the rubber ones. Maybe they don't make the huge ones in rubber because of the weight issue. My 26-inch rubber net is heavier than my giant Beckman. There must be some reason, because about 26 or so inches is the largest I can find from the manufacturers. I guess they think the rubber is too heavy.

I guess I need to find out who makes the rubber netting itself, and see if I can buy a 4X8 sheet of it or something and cut it to fit a large hoop.

Or better yet, just quit weighing and netting any of them!!![Wink] If I don't lift the fish in the net to weigh it, very little slime is ever lost anyway because they just float above the netting.
