[font "Comic Sans MS"][size 2][#002850]Nice trip with Yonni and MGB. Got up early (3:45) so that we could be on the water at sun up. Captain Mike is always great company. Since I am still just starting to get familiar with the Berry, it was nice to be tour guided by Mike and to pick up a few fish in the mean time. Nope, the Berry wasn't "on fire" for number of fish willing to bite our hooks but hey, the 8 that I caught were a hoot just the same.
Like Mike mentioned, I did have a nice bruiser on for just a moment. That big ole boy bent my pole BIG time, took drag for a quarter mile, and then it was over. I just stood there blinking my eyes in wonderment.
Later in the day I had to laugh (I have a bad habit of laughing at other's misfortunes) at Yonni. All of a sudden, I hear this "… So .. of .. a B …" coming from him. I look over and he's holding a 1-piece rod gone 2-piece with a bow hanging on it. And now it's his turn to stand there blinking his eyes in wonderment.
On our way home, just out of the marina, we stopped to see the red big-nosed spawning kokes in the stream. I guess the run is pretty much over because we only seen a hand full. But I found it interesting none the less because I had never seen it before.
I forgot to mention, Bait_Caster and TrophyHunter were down there with us in TH's boat. I don't really know how well they did but I did see BC get woke up from a nap to have a NICE cut on! Heck of a way to be woke from a nap.
