Here's a couple of helpful tips for all you campers & worm catchers!!
Last year at Wal-Mart I purchased a LED Headlamp that had the regular spot/flood lights but also had a Red light mode. I thought this must be for night vision for your eyes to adjust or something technical.
Well camping over the summer the bugs would come into the camper with a vengence - heading for the light that was lit. Then I thought to try the red headlamp - WOW -- NO BUGS would follow the red light and they wouldn't be attacted inside the camper.
Then I wnet out to try night crawler hunting which I excelled at during my teenage years but the crawlers are much faster now!! Well with the Red Headlamp the worms are "sitting ducks" - they can still hear your feet stomping but now I can catch all the crawlers I need without worrying about the light scaring them.
Give these two tips a try - hope they help your outdoor experience and save you a few $$ for other costs the worms!!
