I think I would have noticed if I had to break the spinner head loose or if it spun off freely.[
] That was why I said you have to grip it firmly and not allow the crank to spin on you when you turn the spinner head off. [cool]
on the up side, you would have put it back together and went out and cast it and it would have worked for ya,,, Some times things just have to be taken apart and put back together to work...LOL
That would do it thogh, something had to be holding the spinner head up so that it could scrape the reel cap.
Will be looking forward to hearing about how well your 808 casts now with the XL Smooth.
I didnt mention one other posibility, well I did kind of, and you will run in to this eventualy your self. It is deteriated line. It is line that has been on the reel to long, or on the shelf to long. I mentioned earlier that sunlight deteriates fishing line, that is a fact.
so when buying new line, always buy fresh, look to see when it is manufactured.
another thing you will run in to with your line is streach, when you strech your line, and you do just about every time you go fishing. It is common pratice to cut off about the last 3-5 feet of line every time you go out. especialy if you get ahold of a big fish or caught the bottom of the lake.[shocked] I caught the bottom of the lake a couple days ago my self, lost my terminal tackle and about 20 feet of line... It happens to the best of us...
sounds like you will be out chasing cats reel soon now. to bad we are on the dark side of the moon. but you will be ready now for next week when the moon strats growing again.[cool]
