Cleaning is your responcibility. being that it is only a couple months old, it is not due for a cleaning unless you have layed it in the sand, dropped it in to the lake, thrown it in to the back of a dirty trunk ect....

another thing that causes line to snap on casting is if the pins on the spinner head do not fully retract whan you press the casting button in. this can also be caused be line wrapped around the inside post of the spinner head.
when you press on the cast button, the pins should not be felt when you rub your fingers or hand over the pins.
the pins may not feel sharp, they dont have to be razer sharp to cut.
where I am sending you, you will be able to look at that as well.

To remove the spinnerhead. Grasp the reel with one of the crank grips between your thumb and index finger.
hold a firm grip on the reel, do not allow the crank to spin. take your right hand and grasp the spinner head and turn to the left to take the spinnerhead off.
when cleaning and relubing you should use a Reel Lube, not just any kind of greese. Reel lube greese is vary thin. most old timers use pertrolium jelly to relube there reels. "force of habbit" replace the spinnerhead using the same steps as above. Use about the same force that it took to spin it off. dont reap on the spinner head when you put it back on. you dont want to strip the threads. if you find something take a picture of it to share with the rest of us before cleaning it.
if you do not find any broken line or other obstructions in there, I would say it is your line. I would go out and pick up a filler spool of silverthread Spicifficly this product.
