Yes, that is where we were. Sounds like you were a ways to the south of us. We were a little bit north of Kents boat and his crew. I'm not sure if we were right on top of a channel or not, but there is something there that makes the fish keep coming around. About 3 weeks ago we were anchored in that general vicinity and there was in fact a pretty strong underwater current for about an hour or so. Our anchor kept us put and there was no wind at, in fact it was kind of eerie. Our lines were almost at a 45 degree angle towards the west. During that hour the fishing was about the best I've ever seen there. Then the current stopped and our lines went vertical again and the fishing, although still good, slowed down somewhat. So you may be correct about a channel being there somewhere.
It's the same place we were ice fishing last winter when we talked to you as we were coming in after my cousin landed that 28incher. I had never fished it from a boat before this year, only ice fished from that spot. It may very well be an old underwater channel.

We started fishing there because we can launch the little boat right from the shore and be fishing within about 5 minutes. I noticed that the water has gone down some since 2 weeks ago. Where it used to be 35ish feet, it is now 33ish feet. I've got quite a few spots marked around there, but we generally just drive out to that area and then idle around with the trolling motor till we see fish and then anchor, so we are never in the exact same spot, but lately we've been in that general vicinity every week.

I can't get enough of that place!
