An idea for lead-free sinkers for freshwater fishing

Hematite beads (black iron oxide) which are used for jewelry are very heavy.

I checked with an environmental engineer and he said that it's better than using lead.

Just go to eBay and search for "hematite beads".

Don't pay a lot for them. They are produced in China and a 16 inch strand of perhaps 50 beads shouldn't be more than $10.00, and probably less.

Note for tacke store owners: why don't you contact the manufacturers in China and have them make a bunch of them per your specifications?
