Talked with a couple people during the week about fishing the berry this weekend but nobody could go on the short notice I gave them so I went solo. Arrived at 8:00am Saturday morning. The first couple areas I tried was not fast enough catching so I kept moving. The third area was the ticket, fished it for five hours before it slow down. I relocated afew other times picking up a couple in each place. Caught about 3. dozen for the day. One was a 22.5 incher and 3 right at 22 inches. Caught fish vertical jigging in 44' - 53'.
Sunday I was on the water at 6:30. Went straight to the area that produced the day before. Started hooking up right from the start. Called it a day at 11:30am. Caught about two dozen, 3 over the slot and a couple right at 22". The best jigg was a fat 2.5" white or pearl white tube jig.
The first photo is a 23.5" cutt that I took home for dinner. The second and third photos are of a larger cutt that I let go since I had my over the slot cutt. It was 25" and alot fater that the one I took home.
