The runner is actually in the crank bait category and the count down is more in the jerk bait category.
With the runner, it is best to cast out and crank it down to the depth that you want it to swim in. They usually have a diving depth to about 8 to 10 feet depending on the speed in which you reel it in.
The Countdown lets you allow it to sink to the desired depth and slowly bring it back. Stop reeling and give it a jerk. Reel a little bit and stop etc etc.....[cool]
