Which Is Better
#3
...A seine is mostly used to catch small fish like minnows, but it will catch Big fish too. The seine is used from the shore and requires two people. Most state have laws on length and mesh size so you need to look in to that.

...The cast net is used to catch bigger fish in deeper water and can be used by one person. Most of the time the cast net is used when you see fish on the surface. Wall-mart has cast nets at a good price. Most cast net come in 3/8" Square and they are good all around cast net, but will not catch small minnows. The 1/4" Square will catch small minnows, but it cost a lot more. Here is a guide to the size of net you may need to catch different fish. I would got with a 3/8" Square with a radius of 4 to 6 feet. More than 10 foot radius is very hard to throw.

Mesh Size----- Bait Size -----Radius

1/4" Square ---1 to 2-in ----3 to 10 ft

3/8" Square ---2 to 5-in ----3 to 12 ft

1/2" Square--- 6 to 9-in---- 6 to 12 ft

5/8" Square--- 9 to 12-in--- 6 to 12 ft

1" Square----12-in and Over--6 to 12 ft
