Wall-mart has cast nets at a good price. Most cast net come in 3/8" Square and they are good all around cast net, but will not catch small minnows. The 1/4" Square will catch small minnows, but it cost a lot more. Here is a guide to the size of net you may need to catch different fish. I would got with a 3/8" Square with a radius of 4 to 6 feet.
