Stink bait

There are some catfishing sites with recipes, but I don't have any specifics. My Grandpa used to make it by taking shad sidesd (filets) and sealing them in a mason jar with chicken entrails. Then he would bury it in the garden for a few weeks. Horrible smelling stuff but it sure worked!!
