I actually developed that cast to suit my needs at the time. Since I don't nail myself down to just one style of fishing, I can diversify and conjugate my casting styles.
By the same token that us anglers who spincast or baitcast, can use a bubble/fly combo, the flyfishing side of my can also borrow a spincast/baitcast technique too.
This technique would work very well with your bigger flies especially if your casting range is limited due to the landscaping behind you and/or lack of real estate below your feet.[cool]
