Ditto on the welcome to the forum. I like you already since you are after the correct fish.
Perch would be my favorite also but don't have any good thoughts right now for close fishing. Maybe ice fishing Am. Falls a little later. Right now good perch fishing at Ririe Res. but need a boat and need to know where to go. S.M. bass fishing on Snake is very competitive and boat fishermen have the advantage.
Actually for shore fishing, I don't have any good ideas for you at all. Winder maybe (toward Preston) for perch, bluegill and L.M. bass, but you would have to find a good spot on the bank or develop one. You might want to invest in a float tube to enhance your chances but it will still be limited compared to a boat.
