What age to teach a boy to kill a fish?

I as many here learned about how fish came about on the table at an early age. I didn't have a problem with it at an early age, but my two grandaughters take a different view. The 9 yr old would have a hard time with the killing part as the 5 yr old wouldn't bother her a bit. Bkidder is right when he says it must be up to the child and their views on it. Both my grandaughters love to fish with Peepop and I will keep it that way by taking it one step at a time. When their ready they'll ask.
