I am picking up an old thread here I know ....
In a conversation with a surgeon I suggested we have a cup of coffee.
He told me that based on his experience, he would drink tea before a long operation, but never coffee, on account of he could not take a break halfway through. He said coffee is a diahuretic (spelling?) and it speeds things up but tea (and other drinks) won't.
Similar problem to tubing but a little more serious.
