I am real stingy when it comes to using carb cleaner, I added a five second spray to the tank of gas.
I use it more for a parts cleaner when I do actual fisical removel of the carb, every thing gets sprayed and brushed then and sprayed again then allowed to drip dry on the rack.
lawn mower ususaly gets a two second spray, but it runs on regular and has a smaller tank. and then I only spray it if it is running rough when I fire it up...
I tested some of the gas in my weed wipper before I will run the boat on it, got a big puff of smoke the first 10 seconds and then it is clean running all the way.
I will go to the carb cleaner faster than I will reach for the starter fluid... but I am weird that way... I tend to think its water in the gas or the jets and valves are sticking before I start thinking its the spark plug....
