the great lakes has problems much like the mississippi river in that daily we have boats and freighters in our waters from all around the world.
getting these vessels to obay the current ballast and gray water treatments seems to be a problem because no one wants to encur the cost and time...
they dont have to live here we do... and we have a lot to loose if the new laws are turned over in the federal courts... for every one of these new invasions of bio matter and spciese we loose mega amounts of tourism dollars generated by our resorces. That is the only real thing michigan has to offer these days since the auto industry is all but gone....
