Did you hear about the guy on Long Beach Island, NJ. Skies were blue and a storm way quite a ways off shore. The guy was hit by lightning on the beach. So even if lighting seems far from your boat, that doesn't make you any safer than being in the middle of it. I read that graphite conducts well, so holding one during a storm is not a great idea. As for other advice, I have none. <br><br>Tight lines at sea, screamin kids at home!
