Are you tying with calf body hair, or calf tail? I prefer body hair because it's easier to stack. Tail is less bulky. One thing with a wulff is to tie in the wing first. When you trim the butts, trim them at an angle. When you tie in the tail of the fly, make sure it wraps right up to where the wing is. If you do this right, there should be an even uniform body. Easier said than done. I usually sub the hair for poly (cripple style) or I use turkey flats. If you use turkey flats well it will look just like calf body hair.
