Here is a good list of must have "stuff" for any boat:
throwable flotation device
horn/whistle
live vest(1 per person at least)
bilge pump(bigger is better, if the boat is too small to have a built in electric take something to bail with)
first aid kit
small tool kit
anchor with rope
dock lines
flashlight
spare drain plug(floating prefered)
paddle(1 is a must, 2 is better)
Now for all the fishing goodies:
main motor(Gas)
trolling Motor(Electric)
batteries
fishfinder
rod Tiedown
livewell with pump(this could be a cooler depending on what you want to do with your fish)
These are just suggestions. Take a look at what you want to do and buy a boat that you will be happy with. DO NOT BUY SOMETHING SAYING I WILL UPGRADE LATER! This is the biggest single mistake of new boat owners. If you have to wait a few more months to get the right boat/gear do it. You will be much happier and save $$$. Good luck and be safe!
