Don't want to to sound like a brag on my fishing prowess, but on a trip to Canada, I hooked a few small tigers, and then on a small lake, I hooked a major fish (If I told you what I estimated the size, you would surely call me a liar) But I fought the thing long enough for another tooner to come over to take a picture and loan me his large landing net. When I had it close enough to net, and he had his camera ready, it went into the net, and as I was ready to get hold of it, he flipped, went thru and broke the net, waved his tail goodbye, and left both of us shaking our head.
I can attest to how that fish was to catch, he was really strong. I had always thought that if I caught a 10 pound smallmouth, I would never be able to land it, but it seems like a toss up between the two.
I have landed some large fish in both still water, and rivers, and that tiger will always be a good impressive memory.
