Prepping guides before wrapping
#1
[black]I have a couple questions about prepping guide feet before wrapping them. I know you need to file down the guide foot tip for a better transition from the blank to the start of the guide foot. [/black]

[black]My problem is, I hear of folks using A size thread to wrap guides but I can never get a decent wrap to lay right with A size around the "barb" area of the guide foot. Seems the thread won't lay side by side as it follows the barb and leaves a gap. Does anyone file the barb area to facilitate a smoother transition with the wrap in this area? I've gone to wrapping with D size because it lays down better for me. Any thoughts on this?[/black]
