It's like MH says. Powerbait usually will catch quite a few fish. I've never tried eggs before, but they may be productive as well. All of the fish are planters (except the carp of course) but they put up a pretty good fight, and are fairly tasty little buggars. Make sure you use light tackle, they will see the bigger line and won't touch your bait. Good luck.
