I have three thoughts.
1) A 10 hp merc on a toon is just plain dangerous. Your talking a 74-85# motor, capable of huge amounts of thrust, hanging on the back of a short craft that is not designed to plane or even go fast.
2) at some point, the whole portability aspect of a toon is comprimized by adding additional weight and gadgetry. If you want bass boat performance, buy a bass boat. A 400# overloaded toon is a poor substitute.
3) natural selection is an unforgiveing process [
