Check out the new Leatherman "Wave" model. Has knife, screwdrivers, saw, pliers, scissors, file, and just about anything else you might need. All stainless steel too. Almost indestructable. They're kinda expensive in stores, but if you go on-line or E-Bay you can pick one up for about $25.00.
Shop around and get the model with the attachments you like. They have tons of sizes and different blades to choose from.
In years gone by I used swiss army knives, but kept breaking them. Couldn't stand up to fishing pressures. Got a leatherman about 5 years ago and never looked back. I've now got several. Don't leave home without it. I find myself going to my pocket for my leatherman more often than I go to my tool box. The perfect gift for any outdoorsman.
