Are you asking me these q's? If so this is my answer.
As for a rod, whatever you feel comfy landind a large fish that could make some screaming runs and possibly damage your rod or reel. As for flies, anything large and colorful should work and i also tie some mouse patterns that work awesome. Line is decided by the rod. My outfit is a 9wt 9' Reddington and i use a solid piece of 30# flourocarbon mono or something similar. I think a 7wt would work fine unless you get a pig. You want the backbone and power to pull them away from the trees and brush. I don't look for a fight when catching tigers. It is all about landing them. Might sound greedy but that is how i feel. Trout i look for the challenge but tigers is a game of hook em, land em, and release em as fast as i can. Especially now that they are having probs with replacement. I hope i have answered your q's.
