Looks like FGD covered just about everything that you need to know. By the way most reputable tackle stores will load your reel with free backing, add the fly line and a length of mono shock. They will loop the shock so that you can easily add your leader which as FGD mentioned most are looped these days. Any thoughts on reel & rod brands that you might be considering?
