[cool][#0000ff]The three year old class of pike are rounding the 30" mark now and there are some 16"ers coming on. There are a few BIG mamas that spawned the first year class and the 30"ers should be spawning this year. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I had independent reports from a couple of sources last spring and into early summer about both trout and perch spitting up baby walleyes. Also had a report of two different year class pike with both perch and walleye young in them.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I once read that because perch spawn before walleyes, that baby perch sometimes munch a lot of walleye fry before they can get big enough to turn the tables. And, larger perch will eat both young walleye and also baby perch. Really gives new meaning to the old saying "Eat or be eaten". In this case it is eat AND be eaten. That has always been the story at Yuba.[/#0000ff]
