Great read thanks.
I have a 17' Lund with an outboard. Until last year I had 1 fire extinguisher and it was always stashed in a floor compartment. After reading more and more topics and incidents on forums like this, I decided it was time to be better prepared in case of an emergency. I bought another larger extinguisher and mounted both of them for quick access. Also ended up stocking the boat with pretty much anything I could think of for any kind of emergency possible. Encluding showing guests on my boat where things are and how everything works.
Before about the only thing I could do to help boaters on the water was to tow or go get help. Now that I have all the stuff on board I have actually been able to get people up and running by using the tools and resources I keep handy.
