There are several good Forest Service campgrounds (but I believe they are all closed during winter) all round the lake and with in walking distance of the shore line. The problem is that the shore line drops off very little for the first 50 to 80 yards until you get to the "shelf" which can drop almost straight off to over 100 ft. Also the shore line is very weedy so you won't want to fish on the bottom. What you can mostly catch from shore are the pearch and sometimes a rainbow or splake. (Of course right now you can access the entire lake from shore on the ice.) As far as wilderness camping, there is none that I am aware of within the fishlake basin. It is probably allowed to the south of the lake on the "Mytoge Mt. Road" which is about 4-5 miles away and to the north on the UM creek or "7 mile" road. Both of the latter are about 10 miles away but have some decent streams that hold fish.
