There's an area on Pali
es lake that holds some pretty decent fish, not too far off shore, past Big Elk. As you are heading towards Wyoming, past Big Elk, there is a curve in the lake that has some sloped bank to it, just before you hit the flats. Right on the seam of the flats and the sloped bank area there is some excellent fishing to be had. The lower the lake, the more you need to be on the slope water. The fish there don't hang too awfully far offshore, and are pretty good sized.
The macks I have caught are in the deeper water off the lake side rocky point of Big Elk.
