[#005000]No I have not been to Irvine lake... I have only been fishing two lakes in my area... Lake Dixon in Escondido and Lake Wohlford in Valley Center.. of the two Wohlford is the only one that allows float tubes and so far there is no charge for it.. however, there is a $5.00 daily fishing permit required for ALL lakes in the San Diego area..
Since I am so new to the sport I have not ventured into the float tubing... even though several have said I need to try it.. lol..
I have been tempted.. especially at Dixon to rent one of their boats (electric motors).. and fish around the edge of the lake.. especially in the reed beds... to see what I can come up with... I am just very hesitant to stand and cast in a boat like that for fear of overturning it.. or casting myself over the side.. [blush]
