If it is a 4 section unit I would be inclined to contact the manufacturer and see if I could get a replacement for the whole tip section. Even though only 3" was broken off you really don't know if there are some hair line fractures further down from the tip. That would jeopardize the intergity of the whole rod.[/size][/green][/font]
