It's a good question Hara and I am happy to declare my (allround) favourite which I have only come across recently.

They are a Japanese stainless - cone cut - hook and probably the best comparison I can give you is a Mustad 7691 SS, except these are slightly heavier in the shaft and "razor" sharp. Also a bit cheaper than the Mustad as well.

Were only using from 6/0 upwards and they are long lasting, plus tough as nuts.

We have just switched our glow in the dark jigs, skirted lures and baitfish profile - flex - trolling lures to them because they are the best hook that I have found (so far) that meet the grade IMO.

What sized hooks are you using for your baits at present?

Jeff (Troutman) over at the fishing polls board bought some of these hooks from us recently, so you might want to ask him what he thinks of them as well. He's planniing to fish them shortly on a 3 day trip.

If you take a look at the post down below I think I left a link their to an image of one.

I have to agree that finding the right hooks for the right job is always a challenge and the same applies to jig hooks from my experience. That's were I believe the saltwater Mustad's come into their own for strength and durability.

I will be interested to hear what other anglers like to use, because there are a number of popular brands around now with J hook and circle hook patterns that are getting a lot of use as well.

Owner's, Eagle Claw and others are being spoken of a lot and with mixed results on some too it seems.

Burnin Thumbs!

Steve - The MJB
BFT Lures/Baits
http://www.demonjigs.com
