[black][size 3]A pretty nice reel for the money is the Okuma Avenger(baitrunner) - I have two and they are pretty inexpensive(about $40), so , a possible good choice.[/size][/black]

[black][size 3]For a rod, you have a lot of options that will work just fine. You could go with a Shakespeare Ugly Stick 7.5 to 9 foot medium action - also pretty inexpensive(about $40). Shimano also makes some pretty inexpensive rods that would be good for carp.[/size][/black]

[black][size 3]These will work for most of the carping you will be doing at first. If you decide that you really like carp fishing there are a lot of other options available - some of which are at much higher prices, I might add.[/size][/black]
