OK, don't laugh now...for trout, I have the best luck by making a little ball of Velveta cheese and putting it at the head of the hook and then just running the tip of the hook through the head of a conditioned nightcrawler and letting the whole crawler dangle...drifted along undercut banks under a float it's deadly [
