VERY sad news...Doug Miller dead at age 59...
#23
I agree with what has already been said. This will leave a big void in the outdoor world. There have been a few times when Doug show cased a wild place that was near and dear to my heart and I wished he wouldn't have. He wasn't trying to mess up some bodies secret spot. He was only trying to help us enjoy the great outdoors. I was part of about a half of dozen of his programs. I used to write some of the questions for his outdoor quiz. I think the the neatest thing I saw with Doug was the way he worked with the youth. The first time I met Doug I was helping with the first youth pheasant hunt. Doug came up to do his story with the 8 a.m. group and then he was going to hurry back to the Utah Byu football game later in the day. Doug got involved with the kids and the photogragher went to the game while Doug stayed. The perch parties at pineview brought out lots of people with their kids for a first attempt at ice fishing. There is just not enough involvement with parents and their kids in todays busy society. I really appreciate his time and effort in helping the youth get involved in the outdoors. I agree with bear paw. We need to enjoy the time and people around us because you never know about tomorrow. gshorthair
