Best baits for a few different species of cats:
1. CHANNEL CATFISH: Chicken livers are by far the most productive. Night Crawlers are probably a close second.
2. BLUE CATFISH: The most productive bait i've used for blue cats is fresh cut eel. Sometimes they'll hit a live bait.
3. FLATHEAD CATFISH: Live bait. My favorite bait for monster flatheads is about an 8 inch live crappie. Next in line would be a bream or carp. I've even caught bit flatheads on small channel catfish.
Other catfish species, like bullheads, yellow, and spotted fall under the same catagory as the channel catfish as far as forage.
