i decided to go spend a night on strawberry and see what goes on during a full moon. the fish were really jumping thurday night until it got dark. it was pitch black, and the feeding stopped. we had been catching a few on flies, but once it was dark it ended. so, we set up our sleeping bags and got settled in for a night on the boat. about 11 or so the full moon came out. it was really bright! and then the feeding started back up. they splashed and fed all night long and into the morning. my brother stayed up pretty late and caught some on wolly buggers. i slept. well, the next days fishing wasnt nearly as good as the berry was a week ago for us. i think i can finally blame the moon! they fed all night and just werent too active during the day. next time i want to day fish i'll avoid the moon. but, for night fishing, i think i'll wait for the full moon. that was an awesome display to see them hit a fly and come clear out of the water... in the moonlight. (of course i slept during a lot of the action!)
