Well I went out on Fathers day and the fishing was wild!! I have installed my “My Buddy†Fish finder and with the side scan I was having a ball chasing school bass and spotting them on the sonar. I have also made a rear view mirror so that I don’t have to worry about backing into Moby’s Mouth. Somewhere there is a thread where we were talking about that but I can’t find it. Wal-Mart has mirrors for bikes that slide on the handle bars. They also just happen to fit ¾†pvc!! PERFECT!
The bass were a ball. I was using an 8 ½ foot Bass Pro Shop micro lite rod with 4lb test and could throw the 1/8 oz rattle traps about a country mile. When the sun came out I went to the dam and with 4†worms Texas rigged and little bitsy jigs with 3†grubs I cleaned up there too. I literally caught bass until my shoulders were on fire!! I couldn’t have caught another fish if I tried. Heck, I even caught bass on my 9’ light action carp rod that I wanted to christen. Man, I could throw a spinner bait almost out of sight! The next time I will JUST HAVE to carry my fly rods. The baas were not big but they fought hard and averaged about 14â€.
