[cool][#0000ff]It has always been a pet peeve with me that criminals have more rights than their victims. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have friends and relatives in law enforcement, and have been on the "fringes" of that community enough to have a special sympathy for what our officers must endure to "protect" us. The real crime is that a hardworking and conscientious officer must put their life on the line and be careful that they do not infringe upon the human rights of killers, rapists, muggers, thieves and other scum. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It really burns me when a criminal is caught on tape in the perpetration of the crime, and has 50 witnesses who will testify against them in court...and then they get freed on a technicality of human rights violations. I always have to ask "How about the rights of the victims".[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Tasers are a great "equalizer". They help outnumbered or overpowered officers to neutralize dangerous captives before they can inflict harm on themselves or others. Sure, some of them suffer medical problems as a result, but usually as a result of having illegal drugs in their systems. Too bad.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Just like catch and release arguments. Sure, some fish still succumb after being released. But they have a better chance of surviving than if they are taken home to the fillet knife. Same with criminals. There may some mortality, but how many other lives are saved by stunning a wild captive with a taser? Too many cops being injured or killed in the line of duty as it is.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]That is my "humble" opinion.[/#0000ff]
